ADDRESSING AMR IN MADAGASCAR: THE EXPERIENCE ESTABLISHING A MEDICAL BACTERIOLOGY LABORATORY

In 2016, the Mérieux Foundation launched a project with the Ministry of Public Health to create a bacteriology laboratory at Befelatanana hospital in Antananarivo (Madagascar). The objective was to create and ensure the continued viability of operations for an essential package of analyses, to improve diagnosis and produce reliable data on antimicrobial resistance.
